It's 2p right now! I have one hour to finish getting ready. Yikes. I'm nervous. Excited. A little anxious... I'm just ready to be on the plane and on the way. I'm bringing a journal and even though I won't have internet access while I'm gone, I plan on posting some of my musings upon my return.
I better do a quick run through the apartment to make sure I have everything I need. Please pray for me and my team while I'm gone.
Be well.

The Night Before...
My flight to El Salvador leaves in about 21hrs. I'm supposed to be ready to head to the airport in about 17hrs. I haven't even gotten my backpack out of my storage closet yet. Maybe all my travels has got me thinking that I don't need to prep, but mostly, I think I'm just lazy. No... lazy isn't the right word... Preoccupied?
I've been thinking about this trip to, this mission for about three months now, but during that time I've gotten a new job, coached a season of cross country, started a basketball, been sick and got well. It's been a very busy few months and with all that's been going on I haven't spent very much time preparing for this latest adventure.
Tonight has been no different. After calling both my mom and my dad I settled in for a quite night at home with Flynn and Harvard. Flynn and I heated up some leftovers and put on season one of Lost. We hadn't gotten very far when the power went out. It flickered back on a few times, but then we sat in the dark for a couple hours. It was actually kinda fun though. I don't know when the last time I got to hang out in a black out was. Flynn and I chatted for a bit, finished our dinners in the dark then put on The Lady and The Tramp which Flynn has on his laptop. I can't even remember the last time I saw that movie. It's been at least 15 years, probably more. Harvard seemed pretty mystified by the flashlights and the darkness, but it didn't keep him from pulling the stuffing out of his newest stuffed (now de-stuffed) toy.
The power came back on with only a few minutes remaining in our movie. We finished it then turned our episode of Lost back on. Now we are hanging out on the couch watching the show while the puppy is cuddled up in his little bed. Harvard has gotten in the habit of falling asleep in his bed with his paw tucked over his nose. It's pretty dang cute!
I suppose I'll pack in the morning. It's already 11pm and it doesn't look like it'll happen tonight. Flynn heads to work around 9am and then Harvard has a puppy play date at 10am. After that I'll have until about 3pm to get everything I need thrown in a bag and get any extras from the store if I need it.
This trip has snuck up so quickly, that I don't really know what I'm getting myself into. I do know that I'm excited about it. But other than that... we'll see.
I'll be sure to post pictures when I get back. Which reminds me I should probably charge my camera battery! Look at me be prepared! Whee!!
